While i'm still waiting for this goddamn suckers at france telecom (the french monopolistic pope of phone bizness here in France) to get a new phone line which will allow me to get my own connexion back, i gotta spend times and money in public computing access, which sucks enough to get me away of this place. The bad thing is that i'm starting to get echoes and comments about this blog (which is great, thanks to you people), and i just can't access and put new shit on it as i would like to.
I also try to get some free URL redirection for this site. i went though many stuff but if any of you people got some ideas, let me know.
i think i'll catch this www.june.back.to which isn't the ultimate thing but who can help, i dunno. we'll see.

At least i think i'll keep the work done with villagephotos which is a great free service when it comes to host pictures and stuff. It's pretty simple, and you can also resize or compress your pics by a great simple way. Well.

BLOGGER RULES, BUT...

I gotta say i'm glad to did choose blogger. It's so easy, simple, it's got great templates and, yes, it's free (as soon as you don't wanna store thousands of pics on your blog).
Now, i'm currently waiting for some answers from the help team for having solutions to my problems : there's hyperlinks that are BLUE instead or being the same orange as the other hypertext links. The fact is that it's not really a big fat problems, but i would like this to be fixed, of course, cause it's reachin also the links side bar on the left, which now looks like a selection of links.




No, Greenpeace isn't supposed to be in blue, neither Ashley Wood, Dave Mc Kean, Ninja Tune ones, etc...

GRAFF ARTIST WELCOME.

I just got a mail from my friend Akroe, an eastern france native too, from the same place, who's now a (parisian) brilliant graphic designer for web, press, etc...
He still got a massive spray can activity, but maybe i got to ask him if i can talk about it here before giving links which can be insecure for him and his crew. Seriously. Police turn mad when it comes to graph artists ; a lot of them went into serious problems these last month, and even in my tiny town of Besancon, quiet little town from the western France, there's already friends who came through the jail, as foolish as it sounds. Anyway, Akroe got his own website and even if it'sn't the best shit he did, there's plenty of examples of what he did these last years : logos for record labels, structure promotions, stuff for Ninja Tune / Big Dada's french crew TTC, even Sony (and its Playstation)...



I'm really into his shit, and as a free bonus, Akroe is simply a totally degenerated pervert guy, who deserve loads of success. No doubt he will got it.

Tomorrow is the second time that FeetWan, Erwan & myself will play together ; we spin 3 different kind of music and last time i got one idea that David, the boss of the bar where we play, liked much.
Usually, Feet & I share our time, more or less, for having a looooooonng progression more logical than mathematical ; i begin with nu-jazz, he put some downtempo, i play abstract hip hop, he continue on some breakbeat, i follow with indie hip hop or jazz funk and he finish the so-called looooong pressure with his secret weapon, drum'n'bass.
Last week, we decide to put 4 records, whatsoever, and do a rotation all night long. Quite anti-respectful of the audience, i was thinking at first. I do prefer taste a slowly, surely transition into musical realm, than this curious idea. And i was dead wrong.

If this classic kind of mix is ideal in clubs, our new way (3 dj's X 4 records) is better for bars, which is exactly our case ; people who went there for a drink or for the music aren't quickly bored if the music isn't their kind of : they go through this "full spectrum" (one of my favorite expressions...) and don't have the time to get bored, which is fine.
Heck, last time, i even had a guy who asked me who was the artist under the track i played : it was "les fleur" by 4hero, and i went into my enthousiastic way of sharing huge shit, telling the guy that he had to check the original from Charles Stepney & Minnie Ripperton's band "Rotary Connection", that it's one of the best song i've ever heard... anyway.

Heck, here's the video of this track, "it's on", with Vakill... this track comes complete with the usual Vadim's touch, as a back-from-the-dead voice loop turns around the track, and Vakill definitely shows skills. Well, for me there's some better tracks in the soon to be released LP, but this one is fat enough for being advertised !

The next LP from Vadim will be in shops at the end of september, and it's a freaky good one.

- So let's say that life without Neil Gaiman is like august without sun ; uh... well, you got me. Neil is one of the greatest authors of these last 20 years, enough said. His work is acclaimed wordwide but what really makes me inside his shit is his run into comics land : the guy put a new sense in the comics writing.

While on the new shit, there's the last interview of Grant Morrison that everybody talks about, and it deserve to be checked, for sure.

Well, but i got a sudden idea : GO BUY AND READ "THE INVISIBLES" from DC Comics/Vertigo ; it's GM best piece, and back in these times where the scottish writer took the fantasy/comic population by surprise, it was magic and brilliant. And it still is. And for those who don't know who's this guy is but who know a little about comics, the guy is now in one of the best chair in this business : he's the writer of the legendary "X-Men" see here, here, here, and here for details), and please believe me when i tell you that there's really not much to see with super heroes flying from a rooftop to another... it's nothing but huge ! (well, if you love comics, sure...)


PERSONNAL BIG STEP ON THIS MUSICAL BULLSHIT THAT BREAK MY HEART FOR YEARS (and my bank account, that's it...)

On a more personnal plan, i'm overexcited about my last project, soon to go from wish to true world.
My pal FeetWan, a huge drum'n'bass dj and lover of nice breaks (like me), and co-creator of the oddibadidub artistic family, and i finally do our next step into the musical business together : after years of dreaming about it, we felt like it's time for us to create our own little independant record label. We are music lovers for many, many years, and we both know how works this business, at last enough for not dreaming of beautiful things... we just want to try it, and put our piece in this big indie scene we support for years ; we've talked a lot about it, and finally we'll try our stuff on another friend shit, some french quality hip hop ; Feet will even put his mark on it with a drum'n'bass remix of the original hip hop track, between other ideas we got and work on. I'll try, for my part, to find the visual identity of the label, as the production of the sleeve and graphic communication for this. Plus, i'll try to work out something of all the connexions we made these last years by working for others labels or promotion structures... it'll be definitely something interesting, even if he and i knows that we won't make money of this story.
Right now, our best and first wish is to be proud to put something out of our usual lazy state of mind... And even if dj'ing and producing tracks for ourselves is cool, we agree that we got to go further now.

THE START (PART 2)

Well, finally, here's something quite ok before finishing this long awaited (well, by me, at last) website i work on for, let's say, months...
it took time to start, but having it started will probably make me work on it more often, hopefully ; i won't jump into the easy kind words for telling why i started this, i think the fact having a blog says it all by itself.
