RAAAAAAAAWHIIIIIIIIIIDEEEEEEEEEEEE !

New year resolution number 3165084 : try to find some completely and futile titles for my posts on the blog. Will do my best, believe me.
in today's shit : parisian rendez-vous, US government sucks part. 32136584, mass-creation web-related information/visual art project, another nice book to read, parts of my life, and some... some of the greatest idea of 2005 ! Uh... so far...

- friday nite ! once again, for those parisians of you guys, here is some shit to do this very friday... which means, tonite !
What ? A night of Solid Steel... who Ammoncontact (see previous posts on this blog), Daedelus (LA represent, from the same galaxy as Busdriver or Radioinactive), and Jon More (from NinjaTune' mythic Coldcut) ; where ? Triptyque (142 rue de montmartre, m° bourse). When ? 9 pm. How much ? 10 euros before 11 pm, 13 after.

- for all of those who still don't know that US Government sucks hardcore, here's another proof, as US customs seized parody comics Stripburger :
"U.S. Customs seized copies of the anthology Stripburger (on their way to Top Shelf), charging that the stories "Richie Bush" by Peter Kuper and "Moj Stub" (translated from the Serbian as "My Pole") by Bojan Redzic constituted "clearly piratical copies" of registered and recorded copyrights.
The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund has retained counsel to challenge these seizures.
We'll have more to report on this soon. For the full story, click here". (thanks to Chris Starros from Top Shelf).

- "Every hour, 10x10 collects the 100 words and pictures that matter most on a global scale, and presents them as a single image, taken to encapsulate that moment in time. Over the course of days, months, and years, 10x10 leaves a trail of these hourly statements which, stitched together side by side, form a continuous patchwork tapestry of human life.
Each hour is presented as a picture postcard window, composed of 100 different frames, each of which holds the image of a single moment in time. Clicking on a single frame allows us to peer a bit deeper into the story that lies behind the image. In this way, we can dart in and out of the news, understanding both the individual stories and the ways in which they relate to each other.
10x10 runs with no human intervention, autonomously observing what a handful of leading international news sources are saying and showing... With no human editors and no regulation, 10x10 is open and free, raw and fresh, and consequently a unique way of following world events. In 10x10, we respond instinctively to patterns in the grid..."
says some kind of nuclear freak constantly posting awesome shit on DPH. 8°

That's it. Oh, and because you all asked for it, here's the book of 2004 :

Habitus, from James Flint.
"Habitus" from James Flint ; yeah, i know, it's not exactly some 2004 book. Well, its french pocket version is a 2004 release, hotdammit ! 'Nuff said, go and read it.

I will not post this much in the very next days, but i gotta some pretty good reasons :
- First, i will get the opportunity to see one of my favorite movie ever at the cinema, in a real theater, in a real big armchair, and not on my cheap Ikea futon, in front of a real little tv.
"Some came running", from Vincente Minelli, 2 hours of pure genius' juice from 1958, finally come to my town in a new copy... Cool as fuck !
- In the same week, some stuff from Mankiewicz, Fellini, Kurosawa, R.Wise and F.Lang, a little try with experimental cinema with Paul Shartis, and finally those great 2004 movies i missed (or that i want to re-watch), courtesy of the annual Telerama festival. Right now, and because i'm a poor looser, i got something like 11 movies to (re-)watch from january the 19 to january the 26, including Sophia Coppola' "Lost in translation", Wong Kar Wai' "2046", Assayas' "Clean", Fatih Akin' "Head on", Nuri Bilge Ceylan' "Uzak", Jonathan Nossiter' "Mondovino", and finally Michel Gondry' "Eternel sunshine of the spotless mind", that i missed when's out cause there was only some french (bad ?) dubbed version... anyway.
- ...Cause after january the 26 comes this year Angoulême International Comics Festival.
- ... and cause i gotta 3 deadlines completely fucked up, including one for some north american project that i really wanna see, so if it means "no more bloggin' for the following days"... no more bloggin for the following days !
But wait, i gotta some kind of Subutex solution here : in a few days, some billions words from november/december 2004 that were never posted. Fresh and never-seen before ! yeah, it's some new fresh concept i'm creating right now : p o s t b l o g .
it's about posting something that is pretty old, or at least, pretty late, which means posting something that nobody cares, even less than the usual, current shit.
something like "oh, we hope we'll all have some fun for this Birthday party we do at home at mid-december !", but posting it, right here, right now.
or complaining that it's rainy in november, and posting it in july.
now it's a real fresh concept, i tell you !
8)
more seriously : i just found some notes from back in november/december that i totally forgot to blog ; do i have to blog it or does anybody cares ? uh ? as Kylie says, what do i have to do ? hum.
readers ! YOU'll make the difference !
reader ! YOUR VOTE is IMPORTANT !
reader ! you'll CHOOSE !
reader ! i really, really GOTTA go to SLEEP right now. 8)

See you maybe before Angouleme, maybe while Angouleme, maybe after Angouleme. 8)
Peace, i'm out there.

GAIMAN, NINJAS, CAPU, GLASSES AND BYE TO OSLO. OH! AND SOME PERSONNAL NEWS, TOO.
or so-so.

First, thanks to the tons of emails that visitors of this blog sent me for the New Year.
Of course, i wish you nothing but the best for the months to come -including the next 12- but also the rest, my friends...
Thanks also to the people who mailed me with nice Wishes drawings, it's pretty cool from all of you ; after collecting insane comics, vynils records, or anti-commercial shirts, i'm starting a new collection of "best wishes e-cards" from people i hardly know... Sounds great ! 8)

Now that X-mas and shit is finally over (which means less work at the bookshop), i'm trying to re-gain the time i'd lost these last weeks. Plenty of shit to do, to end : 3 comics projects to finish, including one who must be done by december... Uh-uh... Anyway.
I'm also planning this 2005 Angouleme International Comics Festival (end of January), where i'll try to keep close to the usual gang while running from the Dave Cooper expo to Mix-et-Remix one, from speeches from Art Spiegelman, Craig Thompson, Jason, Don Rosa, David Lloyd, Yoshihiro Tatsumi or Eddie Campbell... Tons of great moments to come ; more soon, but it looks like i'll spend the week and leave on saturday, as saturday is the very day where the armies of sheeps are unpatiently waiting for some sign in their 464132152nd edition of "Lanfeust" or some other shit... Well, loads of good stuff in Angouleme, but tons of fuckers, too. Hopefully "my comics crew" will be around... 8)

More personnal shit soon ; right now, a few infolinks :

- Great, great, great news for the Neil Gaiman lovers worldwide : while Neil is finishing writing his next novel, something called "Anansi Boys" (this follow-up to "American Gods" -Neil's best book ?- is sheduled for september 2005, thanks to William Morrow), it looks like things begin to move for his 2005 big project...
"Mirrormask" is Gaiman last monster baby, some movie with Dave McKean as a director, and the terrific Jim Henson also involved ? Holy shit. Can't wait for it !

"Mirrormask" will be premiering at the Sundance Festival, which will be held soon, on January 20-30. Once again, William Morrow will publish the complete script book, it will be released in May, and will feature many shit, including emails exchange with McKean during the creative process, between other many things (Official press release right here) ; in June (uh, no, not me), a novella with art (and new art) from the hairy McKean and written by our favorite sunglasses lad will ship especially for the young readers.

And while we're on the Gaiman topic, i recently ordered "A Short Film About John Bolton" dvd, Neil Gaiman hilarious short movie (that we already saw in january 2003 for the Angouleme Comics Festival, probably for its first projection, if i'm right) about John Bolton, longtime friend of Gaiman and of course one of the best painter around.
And as usual, Neil still got some time for his blog, and as usual, it's just great.
And for those who still want some more Gaiman news, do not miss the newsletter offered through HarperCollins's AuthorTracker News.

- Ninjas invades the Tate Gallery !
"The Sounds of Christmas is an annual project by Christian Marclay, pioneer of the experimental turntable movement and leading artist operating at the intersections of art and music. Reinventing this work-in-progress for London, the artist will present his collection of over 1,200 Christmas records as a publicly accessible archive. During the two-week installation Strictly Kev will be joining in to create live remixes of his own selection from Marclay's Christmas records. Not to be missed.
Tate Modern, Saturday 11 December, 20.00-22.00."

- Some of Capucine Latrasse' last artwork is available in the Gallery part of her website ; she recently moved to Poland to work on animation movie in some studio, and some of her shit is pretty cool.

- Uptempo dancefloor freaks and lovers of our west London champs, listen to the Bugz last anthem, Booty La la, right here.

- Jaime Hernandez talks about "Hopey", and about many others things, on this cool interview courtesy of Mark Frauenfelder (from the Boingboing hall of fame).

- Ammoncontact are 2 guys who do some heavy shit... but i already said how great their music was, uh ? well, i'm not alone.

my poooooor nose...

- need some new glasses ? here it is :

my poooooor nose...

- Big up to my man Oslo from Lyon, another books and comics freaks (even if when it comes to books, we're miles away behind Oslo...) who recently stopped his first blog (one of my favorite rendez-vous when it cames to unmissable books ro read), to focus on a devoted writing daily basis, showing each days his writing skills on his new one, right here ((in french).

This is it. Have a nice day, take care, and see ya soon.
ps : don't miss best french hip hop act, these TTC bastards, as they tour everywhere or so these next weeks ; and i'm not blogging this because i'm doing the warm-up of 2 dates with them... 8)
