ACOUSTIK ADDICTION ADDICTED.

Re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-listening to... a mix tape ?!?!!!!???

Yep, in these times of MP3 and minidisc, today, i'm also forgetting my vynils and keep on listening to the best mixtape i've ever put my hands on : "Acoustik addiction 2" (from the Human Presence sounds series), from the genius work combination of Teorem and Ewae, two french guys from south france who just, let's keep it clear and simple, kick serious ass.

This ain't dope technical turntablist stuff, just one of the best selections ever, and simply done in a "respect the tracks" state of mind. I found this tape 3 years ago while some big skate'n'hip hop'n'graffiti contest in Montpellier (2001 Attitudes summer festival), and this mix stills sounds fresh. Dooooope.

The only mix that i can remember sounding this good is one of the early dj Vadim mixes that he done for swiss radio Couleur 3, back in the mid-90's, something like 96 if i'm correct ; the hairy russian deeeeeejay did a terrific piece of abstract combination, which is the ultimate slowmotion mix for the biggest downtempo beat headz around, believe me.
I recorded it live, and i think i'm using the third copy of it right now. really.

Of course, you can think of many radio dj's doing some big pieces of shit, too, when they're motivated and all.
Dj Debra also made some radio shows for Couleur 3 years ago, and it was cool as fuck (I don't even talk about Debra voice, who's just one of the best sensual, in-your-ears, really working voices you can thinks for a radio host) ; this girl kick serious ass, and if you're able to check her, don't miss it, even if i haven't heard about her for a pretty long time right now... Heck, You've gotta be in London for staying in touch with cool gigs, cools places, cools new hot wax... or tapes...

Ahhh... Tapes...
Tapes are like forgotten mammoths...
Like dinosaurs, tapes rulled earth thousands years ago... mp3 ? Bullshit. Tapes rules.
Hum. Anyway.
